So much of this "reforminess" garbage seems to be predicated on the fact that unions must be destroyed, teachers' rights must be quashed, seniority and tenure must be eliminated. Oh yeah, sure, kids grades will go up once tenure is eliminated. Excuse me while I barf. NJ has top rated schools in the nation, NJ is always in the top tier of states with good schools and scores number one in many areas. So why do we have to take the hatchet to unions, tenure and seniority, not to mention gutting pensions and health benefits? Oh yeah, the reform movement is really all about union busting and not about education. The schools with low scores in the state are located in high poverty and high crime areas like Camden and Newark. Their schools may have problems as a result of the poverty and crime but let's blame the teachers any how, let's scapegoat the teachers!?! This is a nightmare and a scandal that teachers and their unions are being so demonized and swift boated by the current bully GOP governator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
